About Marine Corps Detachment 819 Citrus County, Florida
Marine Corps League, Citrus Detachment 819 was Chartered on 14th August, 1992. Citrus Detachment 819 is a non-profit organization, formed for charitable and social motives. The Detachment will assist United States Marine Corps veterans in need. They also provide scholarships to local schools and donate to local charities and other activities. Any money collected or donated to Citrus Detachment 819 will be used to support the above-mentioned local Detachment and charities mentioned above. The Detachment will protect and advance the welfare of wounded and disabled Marines. The Citrus Detachment is governed by all provisions of the National and Department statutes, rules and regulations, and the bylaws of this Detachment as written and amended.
PURPOSE and GOALS:
The purposes and goals of the Citrus Detachment shall be:
To serve and promote the traditions of the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps League.
To join those now serving and those who have served and been honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in a fellowship that will exemplify the motto of the United States Marine Corps: "Semper Fidelis".
To Keep its members fit for their duties as citizens as they have served the Marine Corps and the nation.
To hold sacred the History of the Marine Corps and the memory of the members who have given their lives for this nation.
To instill and maintain allegiance to the Marine Corps and to our nation.
To create a bond of comradeship between those in the service of our nation and those who have returned to civilian life.
To volunteer aid and render assistance to all Marines, former Marines, and their families.
To perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and observe, with proper ceremony, historical occasions of interest to the members.
